Warhammer 40,000
A battle report generator built from your actual game, not a template
Most 40k battle reports never get written — the game ends, the table gets packed up,
and the photos sit in your camera roll. Debrief turns what you already have — the
photos you took and a couple of lines per round — into a finished, readable dispatch
in the time it takes to make a coffee.
Why most reports never happen
Writing one up by hand means remembering what actually happened three hours after it
stopped mattering, picking through blurry table shots, and starting from a blank page.
Most players skip it — even after a game worth remembering.
Where Debrief fits
List builders & score trackers
- Build and validate an army list
- Track objectives and victory points live
- Leave the writing to you afterward
Debrief
- Starts after the game, from your own photos
- Writes the round-by-round narrative for you
- Adds spoken narration, music, and a shareable video
Debrief doesn't replace an army builder or a scoring app — it picks up where they leave
off, once the dice stop and the game actually needs to be turned into a story someone
will read.
How it works
- 1
Log both sides. Players, factions, detachments, commanders.
- 2
Add a line or two per round. What happened, who it happened to — plain language, no rules-speak required.
- 3
Drop in your photos. Whatever you shot on your phone at the table.
- 4
File the dispatch. A written report, ready to narrate, export as video, or share by link.
Frequently asked
- Is this a 40k army list builder or a score tracker?
- No. Debrief doesn't build lists or track competitive scoring — it writes the narrative after the game is over, from the photos you took and the notes you log round by round.
- Does it work with any edition or format, including Combat Patrol?
- Yes. Debrief doesn't check rules or points — you log factions, commanders, and what happened each round in plain language, so it works the same for a narrative campaign game, a matched-play round, or a Combat Patrol.
- What photos do I need?
- Whatever you already take on your phone during the game — table-state shots, a good kill, a painted unit you're proud of. Debrief resizes them in your browser and weaves them into the report; no special rig or lighting required.
- Is my battle report used to train AI models?
- No. Report text goes through Anthropic's API and narration audio through OpenAI's API, and both providers state that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models by default. See the Privacy Policy for details and provider links.
- Do I have to pay to use it?
- No. Written reports are free. An optional Patreon pledge unlocks recorded narration, video export, and a higher monthly report allowance.
