By using Debrief, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Debrief is a browser-based companion for tabletop miniature wargames. It turns a post-game brief and your own photographs into a written battle report, optional spoken narration, a shareable page, and a downloadable video. Features may be added, changed, paused, or removed as the service develops.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. Users under the age of majority should use the service with a parent or guardian's permission. The service is not directed to children under 13.
Guest access uses a Firebase anonymous account tied to one browser. Google sign-in makes your account durable across devices and is required to connect Patreon. You are responsible for your Google account security and the activity performed through your Debrief account.
Debrief works without a pledge. Patron features are unlocked by an active pledge to the Cocky Rooster Miniature Gaming campaign on Patreon, checked when you connect your Patreon account.

Allowances, limits, and supported voices may change to reflect provider cost or availability, with reasonable notice for material changes. Replaying or re-downloading something already generated does not use another allowance.
Patreon processes all payments. Your pledge, its amount, renewal date, and cancellation are governed by Patreon's own terms and managed entirely on Patreon — we never see or store your payment details.
Cancel or change a pledge through Patreon. Patron features remain available for as long as Patreon reports your membership as active, and end when it does not. Disconnecting Patreon inside Debrief removes the link on our side but does not cancel your pledge. Refunds are handled by Patreon under its policies.
Deleting your Debrief account does not cancel a Patreon pledge.
You retain your rights in the battle notes, player and unit information, photographs, and other original material you submit. You grant Debrief and its service providers a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and reproduce that content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for submitted content, including any photograph you upload and any person appearing in it. Do not submit confidential information, personal information about another person without permission, or content that violates law or another party's rights.
Reports are private by default. Sharing a recap creates a link that lets anyone holding it view that report, its photographs, and its narration. Treat a shared link as public.
Battle reports are generated automatically from the brief you supply, and narration is synthetic speech. Both may be imperfect, inconsistent, or unsuitable for a particular use, and a report may misstate what happened in your game. You are responsible for reviewing output before sharing, publishing, or distributing it.
Do not use Debrief to impersonate a real person deceptively, facilitate fraud or harassment, create unlawful content, or violate the applicable usage policies of Anthropic or OpenAI.
You may not attempt to bypass authentication, quotas, rate limits, or security controls; probe or disrupt the service; automate abusive requests; resell access without permission; upload malware; scrape protected content; or use the service unlawfully. We may suspend access reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect the service, or comply with law.
Debrief's software, design, branding, and original documentation are owned by the service operator or its licensors.
Debrief is a generic tool and is not tied to any particular game system. Game titles, faction names, unit names, character names, and related marks that you enter belong to their respective owners, and you are responsible for the material you submit. Debrief is an independent, unofficial companion, and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any game publisher.
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accurate reports, permanent storage, compatibility with every device or browser, or that generated content will meet your expectations. Video rendering depends on browser support and may produce a different file format on some devices.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Debrief and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you pledged through Patreon during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.
You may stop using Debrief at any time. To delete your account and everything attached to it, email cocky.rooster.miniature.gaming@gmail.com from the address on your account. We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms. Provisions that reasonably need to survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits — will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. We may update these Terms as the service changes. Continued use after an effective-date change means you accept the revised Terms.
